Introducing Shanbangiao Face Painting Museum

    Like bees in a hive the influx of visitors remain uncontrollable in the famous face painting cultural museum called Shanbangiao Facial Mask Cultural Museum.

    This museum is located near the 19k of Miaoli Highways No. 130. It was established in 1992 as a welcoming workshop; however, in 1999 it was made to be a cultural museum. It offers more than one thousand facial mask of Chinese opera for visitors to paint and take them home as souvenirs.

     Shanbanqiao Mask Culture Museum of Sanyi exhibits the spirit of corporate reform and cultural improvement, as well as the sense of mission to encourage, develop and uphold the art of traditional operatic face painting and woodcarving culture.

    It entails the use of colors and symbols to represent the character status, personality, social position and age. This cultural museum attracts multitudes of people around Taiwan, it also attracts foreigners from different countries around the globe, who all come to experience the traditional believes of a majority of the people of Taiwan.

  Here a lot of things are shown, for example, the use of wood in carving, making traditional statutes, table, chairs and the use of such wood in building houses. There are also camping lodges for visitors who may be interested in sleeping, the houses are made of wood and a lot of attractive trees are planted around the houses, in fact such a place portrays a pure life, the life the people of the past were living. In fact almost everything in this place is made of wood, which makes the place a cut above the rest.
